I don't know much about the history of this place, other than the fact that high school kids have been going out there to
get stoned for years. There are some really old graves there, including a section where slaves are buried. My first time there,
my friend & I sat a tape recorder on a grave to see if we could record anything. We made sure it was recording and laid it
down, only to come back five minutes later to discover that the recorder was mysteriously turned completely off. We looked
around to see if there was any logical explanation for this, but to no avail.
On a separate occasion, we snapped a picture of the old slaves' section, and in the picture, there was a white, misty human
figure that looked like it was wearing a white robe and a pointed hat. On this same visit, we also heard footsteps following
us. The creepiest thing is this: We heard a noise and all took off running for the car. When we got in the car, Matthew's
pants had three clean rips in them that looked like claw marks. They definitely weren't like that beforehand, and he hadn't
gotten hung on a stick or anything.
The cemetery is at the end of a dead-end gravel road, which adds to the creepiness. When you pull up, it surrounds you in
the shape of an upside-down L (the shorter line being in front of your car, and the other line being to your right.) There's
something about the shorter part in front of the road that makes everyone feel uneasy. I've never been able to put my finger
on why, but everyone I've gone with feels this way.
WARNING--8/1/08: Recently, the cemetery was vandalized. Graves were knocked over, smashed, etc., so
closer watch has been kept on it by people living in the area. If going down there after dark, be quiet and unobtrusive, or
an innocent ghost hunt could turn into a mess. Even if you're just there to explore & get scared, no one else knows your intentions,
so be careful, & get rid of anything in your vehicle beforehand that could be interpreted as you having intentions to do harm
(baseball bat, spray paint, etc.)
